What is Radicle?

The network is a peer-to-peer replication protocol created on top of git known as Radicle Link. Radicle Link allows users on the network to share and spread data through a process called gossip. In which, participants replicate data by keeping redundant copies locally and sharing. In leveraging Gits transfer protocol, Radicle Link maintains efficiency while offering global decentralized repository storage via a peer-to-peer network.

How Radicle Works

- Every component of the Radicle stack is open-source
- Radicle is entirely built on open protocols
- Radicle uses peer-to-peer connections instead of server-client
- Radicle uses bazaar-style development where there isn't a master branch that developers sync up to. Every developer has there own copy of a project that can be fetched by others through patching.
- Radicle is self-sustaining and community owned

Differences from GitHub

Radicle is a decentralized code collaboration network built on top of Git with open protocols. Radicle is the GitHub of Web 3.0 and builds upon git, the same technology GitHub and GitLab utilize. Its use allows for decentralized collaboration on Git repositories without relying on an intermediary such as a server.
