Rationality of Labor Choices under a Fixed-Rent Contract

A tenant farmer has a contract requiring a fixed rent payment of 23 bushels. She discovers that working exactly 8 hours a day provides her with a level of satisfaction exactly equal to her next best alternative, which is not working at all. Analyze the consequences for the farmer if she decides to work either 6 hours or 10 hours instead of 8. In your analysis, explain why both of these alternative choices would be irrational for her to make, referencing the concept of a minimum acceptable utility level.
