Robert Remak

Robert Remak (1815{}18151865{}1865) was a prominent neurologist and embryologist who published convincing evidence in 1852{}1852 that cells are derived from other cells as a result of cell division. This idea, which forms the basis of the principle of biogenesis, was initially questioned by many in the scientific community before gaining wider acceptance.
