Role of Couple's Therapy in Treatment of Narcissistic Personality Disorder

A study was done to examine whether being in a stable and intimate relationship had any effect on the course of NPD and its treatment. It was found that being in a stable relationship did positively impact NPD's course and outcome. Couples therapy was effective if three components were present. These include the ability of the individual to curtail their narcissistic abilities, their vulnerability, and the couple's complementary narcissistic gratification.
