Sanai's Critique of Hypocritical Asceticism in the Hadiqat

In Section 14 of Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai delivers a sharp critique of hypocritical asceticism (zuhd-e riya'i). He argues that practicing outer renunciation for the sake of worldly status, material gain, or social approval is equivalent to worshipping a carcass (mordar). Sanai urges the false ascetic to seek sincere repentance (tawbah-ye nasuh) from this hypocritical piety, warning that entering the spiritual realm (alam-e ruh) with a corrupted heart is impossible.
