Types of SAT Math Sections

The writing and language test includes several passages with 44 underlined words and phrases. Test-takers must select via a multiple-choice question whether the underlined sections are grammatically correct and, if not, which answer would make the section grammatically correct. Test-takers are given 35 minutes for this section.

SAT Writing and Language Section

The reading test contains 52 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 65 minutes. The questions are based on five passages taken from literature and natural science, history, and social science articles. The section is meant to test test-takers' reading comprehension skills.
