Service Exclusions in a Maintenance Agreement

A maintenance agreement should clearly identify which tasks are not covered. Common exclusions may include adding new circuits, upgrading older work to current code, connecting new appliances, and responding to urgent calls that are outside the plan. Stating these limits in writing reduces misunderstandings when a customer expects extra work to be included in a routine visit. It also helps the contractor keep labor time and material use within the budget built into the flat-rate price.
