Service Van Build-Out Sequence

A service van should be outfitted in stages so each layer supports the next. Begin by installing protective liners on the walls, floor, and ceiling to shield the vehicle, reduce noise, and help with temperature control. Next, add a cab-to-cargo barrier to protect the driver and passenger area from shifting equipment. After that, install trade-specific shelving. Then add storage accessories such as bins, drawers, hooks, and cab organizers. Once the interior storage is in place, mount roof ladder carriers to preserve cargo space. Finish with exterior step boards to make entry safer in rain, mud, or snow.
