Shared Policy Priority of Inflation Control in Spain and the UK

Despite their divergent paths regarding European monetary integration, a common feature in the economic histories of both Spain and the UK was the high priority placed on controlling inflation. Spain achieved this by joining the eurozone, thereby adopting the European Central Bank's monetary policy. In contrast, the UK established an operationally independent central bank with a specific inflation target.
