Shared vs. Personal Concepts

Concepts can be distinguished by their scope of understanding. Shared concepts, such as 'tolerance,' are widely agreed upon within a culture or society through prolonged use. In contrast, personal concepts are individualized and unique to a person's experiences, such as their idea of an 'ideal friend' or specific 'family birthday traditions.'
