Signs and Symptoms of Leishmaniasis
Leishmaniasis can take one of three forms, each of which cause different symptoms:
- Cutaneous- formation of sores or ulcers at the site of the insect bite
- Visceral- enlargement of the lymph nodes, liver, spleen, and bone marrow
- Mucosal- sores in mucous membranes of the mouth, nares, or pharynx
