This tool, shaped like a diagonally cut square in the right tool bar, allows for trimming down an image or layer. Options include a freeform crop or set aspect ratio, like square.

The paint tool, shaped like a paint brush in the right tool bar, allows for adding color to an image in locations of your choice. Using design tools, the paint brush can be altered in size, transparency, color and shape.

Eraser

This tool is perhaps the most important in all of photoshop because it allows you to move around the photo you are viewing. This is also used for moving selected layers around a photo, editing graphic designs, adding shadows, manipulating an image, etc. This tool is one of the reasons why Photoshop is so manipulatable and user friendly.

Move

This tool, shaped like a raindrop, allows for blurring an image in the area of your choosing. Using other design implementations, users can manipulate the degree of blur, size and shape, much like the paint brush. This requires selection of a particular layer or image because it is not an addition to a design, but manipulates an existing one directly.

Blur

The Photoshop Clone Stamp tool enables users to duplicate a specific portion of an image and paint it over another area. It is frequently used in photo retouching, such as removing blemishes from portraits by copying clear skin, or eliminating unwanted background elements by painting over them with surrounding textures.

The Photoshop Sharpen tool enhances the focus and clarity of selected areas in an image by increasing the contrast of adjacent pixels. The tool, represented by a triangle icon in the toolbar, allows users to adjust its brush size and intensity. It is frequently used in photo editing to clarify specific details, such as facial features in portraits.

The Eyedropper Tool, shown as an eyedropper icon in the Photoshop toolbar, selects the color of a chosen part of the existing image. It is often used to pull a color from the current design and apply it to another element, such as added text, to keep the overall look cohesive.
