Statistical Analysis: COVID-19 risk, disparities and outcomes in patients with chronic liver disease in the United States

In a study on COVID-19 risk and outcomes in patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) in the United States, the Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel method was used to analyze the odds of COVID-19 diagnosis and the effects of age, gender, and race. Adjusted odds ratios, 95% confidence intervals (CI), and p-values were calculated, controlling for demographics and other COVID-19 risk factors. Additionally, a two-sided two-sample test with continuity correction was used to compare death and hospitalization rates over eight months between COVID-19 patients with and without CLD.
