Types of Spastic Cerebral Palsy

- Most common type of Cerebral (affecting 80% of the population).
- Increased muscle tone, resulting in awkward movement.

Cerebral Palsy is classified according to the main type of movement that an individual makes, along with the region of the mind that has been impacted. There are 4 kinds:

- Stiff Muscles (Spasticity)
- Uncontrollable Movement (Dyskinesia)
- Poor Balance and Coordination (Ataxia)

Stiff Muscles (Spasticity)

- Difficulty controlling movement of hands, arms, feet, and legs.
- Movement can be slow, writhing or fast, jerky.
- Muscle tone can change into too tight or too loose in a single day.

Uncontrollable Movement (Dyskinesia)

- Balance and coordination issues.
- Difficulty with quick movements or movements requiring control.
- Unsteady walking, hard time controlling limbs while reaching for an object.
