Strategic Analysis of the Prisoner's Choice

Imagine you are one of the two prisoners in the classic story that illustrates a strategic interaction problem. You are held in a separate room from your partner and must choose to either 'Accuse' them or 'Deny' your joint involvement in a crime. Your goal is to minimize your own prison sentence. Analyze the strategic dilemma you face by explaining why accusing your partner is often considered the individually rational choice, despite the fact that if both of you were to deny, you would collectively receive a better outcome. In your analysis, consider both possible actions your partner could take and the resulting consequences for you.
