Strategic Considerations for a Landowner

A landowner, who controls all the productive land, employs a single worker. The landowner's goal is to maximize their own long-term grain harvest. The landowner knows the absolute minimum amount of grain the worker needs to survive and be able to work the next day. Analyze the potential risks and benefits for the landowner if they choose to provide the worker with only this absolute minimum amount, versus providing slightly more. In your analysis, explain how the worker's potential reactions could influence the landowner's optimal, self-interested strategy.
