Strategies to Incentivize Employee Effort

A company observes that many of its employees are not exerting their full effort, a behavior often described as 'shirking'. The company pays wages that are higher than what employees could earn elsewhere. Using your understanding of an employee's long-term decision-making process, propose and analyze two distinct strategies the company could implement to encourage higher effort. For each strategy, identify which part of the employee's calculation it influences and explain the mechanism through which it would alter their choice.
