Chloroquine is a drug that is thought to prevent the SARS-CoV-2 virus from entering host cells through inhibiting the glycosylation of host receptors, proteolytic process, and endosomal acidification.  There is current no strong evidence to support this hypothesis, and unfavorable effects have been observed in COVID-19 patients taking the drug.
