This article reviews recent research on gender differences in OCD, focusing on prevalence, course of illness, symptom presentation, comorbidity, and treatment response. It aims to reconcile gender disparities in research through their review to inform future directions for research. They concluded that gender may play a role in the onset, presentation, and impact of OCD symptoms, but more research is required to account for differences across studies.
