- Patients under the age of 50 with confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection between January 20, 2020 to April 24, 2020 were analyzed in this study.

- 9358 COVID-19 positive patients under the age of 50 were identified and 33.2% were hospitalized for severe symptoms.

- The incidence of acute ischemic stroke was 0.7% and compared to patients who did not experience a stroke, those who experienced acute ischemic strokes were, on average, older.

- It was found that patients with stroke had significantly lower odds of survival compared to those without stroke. 

- Due to this being an observational study, these findings cannot confirm an association with COVID-19 and an increased risk of stroke but can confirm increased mortality rate.
