Some poets and academic, however, have expressed their reservations about employing the term “crip poetry”. Often these individuals detail that these reservations are largely due to the fact that referring to all disabled poetry as “crip poetry” might communicate to non-disabled readers that all disabled and chronically ill persons have similar experiences while others who find that poetry is not a conducive medium for expressing their point of view will therefore go unheard.
