The Commercial Revolution

The Commercial Revolution was a period of European economic expansion, colonialism, and mercantilism that lasted from approximately the 13th to the early 18th century. It was characterized by an increase in long-distance trade, the growth of financial services like banking and insurance, and the establishment of new overseas trade routes. This era laid the financial and institutional groundwork for the subsequent Industrial Revolution.
