In 2006 the DOT adopted new ADA accessibility standards that included the minimum guidelines that were published by the U.S. Access Board in 2004. 

Michigan State University

The Department of Justice and Department of Transportation are the issuing bodies for ADA accessibility standards. This means that the DOJ has ADA standards that all facilities must follow, except those of public transportation. The DOT issues ADA standards that public transportation must follow.

Standards for accessibility are outlined in Title ll and Title lll of the ADA. In 2010, the DOJ adopted new accessibility standards under Title ll and Title lll after the 2004 guidelines were published.
