Short Answer

The Economics of Vaccination Programs

A private health clinic considers offering a large-scale, voluntary vaccination program for a highly contagious disease. From a purely private market perspective, the clinic would only consider the revenue from the individuals who pay for the vaccine. Explain the economic reason why the total benefit of this program to society is likely much larger than the benefit to the vaccinated individuals alone, and why this might lead to the service being underprovided without government involvement.
