The Effect of Mindfulness Meditation on Psychosis
The goal behind practicing mindfulness meditation during psychosis is to enhance psychological well-being even in the continuance of symptoms. This is because even if symptoms persist, patients will be able to react differently to them, which decreases the chances of being troubled and incapacitated by these symptoms. Furthermore, when schizophrenia patients practice mindfulness meditation, they learn to identify and alter their self-defeating responses to psychosis. This results in regaining power over delusions and hallucinations, and to the acceptance of their psychotic experiences and their selves.
