Libraries and Librarians have a task of providing both information, literacy, and various other services. They may at times even be viewed as social workers. The reason this view occurs is that it is the Library and Librarian's job to make sure that they collaborate with social services. Why social services? Because individuals may come to the library seeking social services in the area such as healthcare, shelter, food, and jobs.
