This concept, drawn from Poem 28 of Attar's Mokhtar Nameh, explores the paradoxical nature of the soul's relationship with the Divine. On one hand, the Divine essence is fundamentally inaccessible and transcendent ("reaching You is impossible"). On the other hand, the soul is entirely dependent upon and inseparable from the Divine ("one cannot sever from You for a single moment"). This simultaneous absolute distance and absolute proximity leaves the seeker in a state of suspended bewilderment, finding no rest in worldly existence without the Divine, yet facing complete annihilation (non-existence) in the overwhelming presence of the Divine.
