Touch targets are the parts of the screen that respond to user interactions and extend beyond simply the visual bounds of the item. For most platforms it's recommended to make touch targets at least 48 x 48 dp regardless of icon size which translates to about 9mm. Pointer targets are more specific to the use of motion-tracking pointer devices like a computer mouse or a touch screen stylus. For these it is recommended to make pointer targets at least 44 x 44 dp.

Having a responsive and flexible layout means that your content is scaled in relation to your user's screen size. This helps prevent your content getting truncated or displayed improperly across different device types. Keeping this in mind allows you to design inclusively for a larger range of users and their respective devices.

For those with vision impairments, users might increase font sizes to help improve readability. Mobile devices and browsers should include features that allow them to adjust their font size system-wide. With that in mind, be sure there is sufficient space in your design to support large and foreign language fonts.
