People living with chronic CD may be unwilling to risk exposure at a health clinic, which can lead to progression of CD. In fact, utilization of health services has been neglected and the presentation of symptoms characteristic of chronic CD have not been detected. Individuals afflicted by chronic CD may be burdened by mental health issues that remain untreated due to the closure of mental health facilities. Patients with CD who are infected with SARS-CoV-2 may acquire severe anxiety and require social workers and mental health practitioners.
