Concept
"Trustworthy misinformation mitigation with soft information nudging" Introduction
Introduction: Simple labeling of “fake news” does not cause consumers of this news to discount these sources. This is primarily due to the fact that consumers of news trust some sources while being skeptical of others. To take advantage of this, the concept of “Trust Nudging” could be used. This is the idea of providing alternate sources to misinformation that are more reputable but still ideologically close to where the consumer typically gets their information. Over time, by suggesting trusted but more reputable sources, a consumer’s news habits may be improved.
