Types of Herpes Simplex Virus

Many people with herpes do not develop symptoms. However, common symptoms of the herpes virus is are herpes lesions found on the genitalia. Cold sores on the mouth are also common symptoms. These can become fluid filled and burst or be smaller and much milder and less noticeable.

Neonatal herpes is herpes infection that was transmitted to a newborn. This is usually transmitted from childbirth.

HSV uses infected cell protein 34.5 which helps in replication and inhibits maturation of cells to avoid immune system response. It also contains glycoproteins on the envelope to evade the host immune system.
