We have iteratively designed and developed a knowledge mapping platform, 1Cademy, to meet two objectives: 
- Large-Scale Knowledge Representation
- Asynchronous Collaborative Development

Based on the quality, correctness, helpfulness, and accuracy of your contribution in 1Cademy, you earn a reputation and gain achievements. There are different types of achievements, These achievements are represented by different icons in the Toolbar Panel.

👾 The UX Research team brings together theory and research practice by ideating research questions and design ideas based on concepts and theories from human-computer interaction (HCI) and computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW).


🔍 We are currently using user interviews to understand (1) how users derive value from 1Cademy, (2) what the experience is like for newcomers, and (3) what tools help 1Cademy members achieve their learning and research goals.

1Cademy Menu

A visualization of some nodes and prerequisite links between them, which is hierarchically organized and personalized for a specific 1Cademy user. The map supports four overarching learning activities: navigation, summarization, evaluation, and improvement.

The mini user profile is where users can view the contributions of other users over time.

This is where users can view their points, change their community membership (default tag), view clusters, and change mode of view of the map.

The shared graph contains both granular information (nodes) and relations between them (prerequisite links). The information is organized starting with general topics that break down to more detailed content. 1Cademy users propose changes to the graph to generate and improve nodes.
