Viral Transformation of Host Cells

Viral transformation is a pathological process in which a virus alters the genetic material of a normal host cell, disrupting its genome. This alteration transforms the normal cell into a cell that is capable of continuous division, a characteristic associated with the development of cancers such as carcinomas and sarcomas.
