Visualizing Operational Limits on Number Lines

In our technical safety documentation, we represent operational limits using number line graphs. Describe the standard conventions for graphing the inequalities x1x \leq 1 and x>1x > -1. For each inequality, specify the direction of the shading and the type of endpoint symbol (parenthesis/open circle or bracket/closed circle) that should be used to indicate whether the boundary value is included or excluded from the solution set.
