An instance of workplace violence that occurred on September 16, 2013, at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. The perpetrator, 34-year-old Aaron Alexis, killed 12 people. Alexis had a documented history of mental health issues, including delusions that he was being controlled by radio waves and monitored by unknown forces.
