For most purposes, [Link Expanders](https://someurl.com) should be used rather than $$\KaTeX$$ Clickable URLs. However, $$\KaTeX$$ Clickable URLs are appropriate if:

- The link must open in the *current* tab for a specific reason.
- The link requires custom styling, such as additional fonts or colors.

Generally, opening links in a *new* tab using Link Expanders is preferred to prevent users from accidentally navigating away and losing their active 1Cademy session.

- Click to open the URL in your **current** tab.
- These should be used sparingly; see child nodes for details.

**Note:** URLs that do not start with `https://` will be treated as same-site links. For example, `[Google](google.com)` redirects to `https://1cademy.com/google.com` when clicked.
