WiseDex Subsystems

WiseDex is an upcoming social media policy generation and application tool that will guide moderation decisions related to posts that might share questionable content.

Social media platforms can alter algorithms to hinder the spread of misinformation and to create a distinction between how legitimate news sources and unreliable news sources appear in a person’s feed. This may also involve suggesting correct information that refutes misinformation that someone has viewed as suggested viewing

Solution to Misinformation: Algorithmic

This study presents a possible solution to the rapid proliferation of misinformation on social media sites. The article suggests that social media websites could implement a sporadic accuracy nudge to encourage users to consider accuracy before sharing an article. This would be appealing to users because content would not need to be censored, limiting the need for algorithms that could fail. Instead, crowdsourcing could be used to identify false headlines.
