Why is having access to a view of nature through a window so important for individuals with ADHD?

I liked the idea of these first two bullet points because when i was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age i was always given the option of finishing my work in a different room that was enclosed. I could focus better because of it and did not get distracted.

Personal experiences with ADHD

1. enclosed office spaces that limit distractions
2. being located away from high traffic areas
3. installing carpet and sound absorbing ceiling tiles
4. having access to a view of nature by a window

It is normal for people to be distracted every so often but for certain individuals it is a more persistent problem.  These are individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Researchers and Doctors now recognize that the persistence of ADHD throughout ones life has many effects on performance and success in the workplace.
