Writing Expository Compare and Contrast

An expository compare and contrast essay examines the similarities and differences between two or more subjects to help readers understand each one more clearly. It follows the standard expository structure: an introduction that presents the subjects and thesis, body paragraphs that develop each point of comparison or contrast with supporting details, and a conclusion that summarizes the key similarities and differences and their significance.
