AI Language Models in Education
As a community of researchers, we aim to explore the applications of AI language models in education. LLMs, also known as large language models, are a powerful type of artificial intelligence trained to comprehend massive repositories of texts & designed to mimic sophisticated human language patterns. We encourage interns to delve into research that applies LLMs in educational settings through interactive learning, personalized tutoring, automated grading, etc.
After learning how to navigate the 1Cademy platform, researchers should break down complex research articles, present them as digestible pieces of information, and communicate their findings with the larger community. Ultimately, the internship is designed to encourage independent inquiry, cultivate research skills like analyzing and interpreting data, and work towards advancing research.
Qualifications
- A strong background in topics related to STEM. Experience in education, business, humanities, and social sciences is also welcome.
- Submit your current resume and either transcripts or a recent learning/performance record that shows strong achievement (e.g., GPA above 3.4/4.0 or an equivalent performance indicator).
- Explain in a few paragraphs why you apply to this specific community.
- Complete our community-specific screening questions based on selected research papers or book chapters and aim for a strong score.

- Work remotely with an interdisciplinary community of talented learners and researchers from diverse organizations (5-10 hours per week).

Responsibilities
- Read and summarize core readings and scientific journal articles.
- Make connections between different ideas and concepts.
- Contribute concise summaries of information to the online 1Cademy platform.
- Attend weekly online meetings.
- Contribute to meetings by presenting work and engaging in discussions.
- All interactions, task fulfillment, and communications will be remote.
