Researchers selected Ontario, Canada to study how air pollution changed during the COVID-19 outbreak. Data for pre-COVID-19 air quality was gathered from the first 17 weeks of years 2015-2020.

  • Average fine particulate matter levels were 7 μg/m3, with a max value of 76 μg/m3
  • Average NO2 levels were 9 ppb, with a max value of 78 ppb
  • Average levels of other nitrogen oxides was 11 ppb, with a max value of 387 ppb
  • Average ozone levels were 30 ppb, with a max value of 94 ppb
