Alcohol use and psychological distress among sexual and gender minority students: Primary Hypothesis Results

The primary hypothesis states that increased alcohol use would be associated with greater psychological distress among SGM university students.

  • Compared to SGM university students that did not report increase in alcohol use, those who did report an increase were more likely to report greater psychological distress.
  • Those who also reported an increase in tobacco use were more likely to report greater psychological distress.
