An Investigation on the Relationship between ARDS and Obesity in COVID-19 Patients

An investigative study conducted in a 34-bed ICU in a tertiary hospital concluded that not only was obesity the most commonly reported comorbidity among COVID-19 patients, but these patients were also at the most risk for ARDS and pneumonia. The damage done by ARDS and pneumonia also led to multiple organ failure and prolonged need for ventilator support in most patients.
