Analysis of Interaction Rules and Outcomes

Consider two situations where two individuals must decide how to divide $100.

Situation A: Person 1 unilaterally decides on the division (e.g., they can choose to keep all $100, give away all $100, or any split in between). Person 2 has no say and must accept the division.

Situation B: Person 1 proposes a division. Person 2 can either accept or reject the proposal. If Person 2 accepts, the money is divided as proposed. If Person 2 rejects, both individuals receive nothing.

Compare the set of rules in these two situations. Analyze how the difference in rules is likely to influence the behavior of the individuals and the final distribution of the $100.
