Analyzing Differences in Initial Cooperative Behavior

Imagine an economic experiment is conducted in two very different cities, City X and City Y. In this experiment, participants are given a sum of money and can anonymously contribute any portion of it to a group fund. The total fund is then doubled and distributed equally among all participants, regardless of their individual contributions. The results from the very first round show that participants in City X contributed, on average, 85% of their money, while participants in City Y contributed, on average, 35%. Analyze at least two distinct potential societal or cultural factors that could explain this significant difference in initial, voluntary cooperation between the two cities. Justify your reasoning for each factor.
