Analyzing Production Choices in Agriculture

Imagine two neighboring farmers. Farmer A's land is rocky and well-drained, ideal for growing grapes. Farmer B's land is loamy and retains moisture, perfect for growing potatoes. Despite this, both farmers decide to grow only potatoes because the current market price for potatoes is very high. Analyze the two primary negative economic consequences that are likely to arise from this collective decision. Then, explain how an alternative strategy where each farmer focuses on the crop best suited for their land would lead to a more beneficial outcome for both of them and the market.
