Analyzing Responses to Increased Income

Consider two individuals who both receive a substantial, unconditional increase in their daily income, such as from a trust fund. Individual A responds by reducing their work hours to enjoy more leisure. Individual B, however, makes no change to their work schedule and continues to work the same number of hours. Analyze the economic reasoning that could explain these two different responses. In your answer, break down how the personal preferences of each individual regarding consumption of goods and enjoyment of free time lead to their distinct decisions.
