Analyzing Subjective Cost of Effort

Two employees, Alex and Ben, work as data analysts for the same company, performing identical tasks and earning the same hourly wage. Alex finds the work intellectually stimulating, enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems, and appreciates the quiet, focused office environment. Ben, however, finds the tasks repetitive and tedious, feels stressed by deadlines, and is easily distracted by minor office noises. Based on this scenario, analyze the factors contributing to the likely difference in the 'disutility of work' experienced by Alex and Ben. Explain how these differences in their personal cost of effort could influence their on-the-job behavior.
