Analyzing the Effects of a Wage Change on Consumption

Economic theory suggests that a higher wage generally leads to higher consumption. However, this is not always the case. Analyze the two opposing economic effects that a wage increase has on an individual's choice between working and leisure. Explain how the interplay between these two effects could, in some circumstances, lead to an individual choosing not to increase their consumption of goods and services.
