Applied Domains in Educational Gamification Studies
A 2014 systematic mapping study of educational gamification literature (Dicheva et al.) analyzed the subject fields to which gamification interventions were applied. The researchers found that among the reviewed papers, only two discussed gamification in K-12 education, while the vast majority focused on higher education and professional training.
